TSLE WEDDING: A ROMANTIC EUROPEAN INSPIRED WEDDING

John and Lloyd had been domestic partners for 14 years before they wed so it goes without saying that they’ve had some time to dream of what their wedding day would be like.  An intimate affair with friends, family and their dog Toby of course.  An evening that centered around incredible food and perfectly paired wine.  Décor and florals that took inspiration from Van Gogh’s extensive paintings of sunflowers and the couples numerous trips to Italy and South France over the years.   The result of course was a wedding chalked full of gorgeous details that guests enjoyed long into the evening.

Set to classical music the couple was wed in the ruins of Annadel estate against a backdrop of lush greens surrounded by fifty of their closest friends and family.  With a black bowtie and wedding rings adorned by a ribbon around his neck, Toby served as the ring bearer.  After the ceremony, guests relaxed overlooking the sprawling lawn while sipping crisp champagne from the bar which had been adorned with lemon leaves and kumquats and enjoyed a sampling of hors d’oeuvres like Humboldt Fog prosciutto croquettes and seared king trumpet mushrooms.

After cocktail hour, guests were once again welcomed into the ruins, which had been transformed for guests to dine under an open night sky that was lit by wrought iron chandeliers that had been beautify decorated with garland and bright orange kumquats.  The natural wood tables were decorated with an assortment of antique brass pieces and wooden boxes that had been decorated with an assortment of zinnias, dahlias, sunflowers, and even some dried flowers to add texture.

The letterpress menus were the first indication of the dining experience that guests were about to embark on; five courses each with an expertly paired wine.  After dinner, guests were welcomed into the barn for dancing and dessert by tray passed limoncello in three flavors that had been made by one of the couple’s closest friends.   From the youngest guest, Toby to the oldest guest who was 96 and had a smile bigger than any other, it was clear that everyone enjoyed their time celebrating this wedding, which was such a long time coming.
